A Days of Our Lives Resurrection Is Headed Our Way — ‘Because In Salem, the Holidays Are the Perfect Time for a Comeback’

By now, we all know that someone is coming back from the dead on Days of Our Lives. EJ and Rolf are hard at work resurrecting whomever is in that mysterious green tube (and make a tidy sum of money in the process). We just don’t know quite yet who that person is. Stefano? Stefan? (According to Vivian, he’s sadly expired.) Jake? (OK, we aren’t betting on that one.) Abigail? Lexie?

We’ve got a few ideas about who it could be, and a definite favorite as to who we think most likely, but right now, it’s all still conjecture. We might, however, have gotten a hint or two from the Days of Our Lives cast when the show asked them who they’d bring back for the holidays. They shared the results on Instagram, and we’ll admit, we were more than a little interested to hear what everyone had to say!

The leading answer, of course, was for Stefano to come back. Carson Boatman (Johnny), Dan Feuerriegel (EJ) and Stacy Haiduk (Kristen) all wanted his grand return. But while Haiduk was excited for “Daddy” no matter what, her TV brother had a caveat. Feuerriegel would only want Stefano back if he could be once again played by Joseph Mascolo. And we get that sentiment completely!

As the daytime legend passed away, though, that sadly wouldn’t be possible. But is it just us, or does that answer make it sound a whole lot like Stefano won’t be coming back, since that would only be possible with a new actor?

The Kiriakis family got some love, too, of course, with Paul Telfer wanting Xander’s dad, Victor, to return, while Eric Martsolf wished for Brady’s mom Isabella to come back. But somehow, we don’t see either of those folks being in EJ’s tube awaiting a resurrection! Can you imagine how Stefano’s head would explode if his son brought his hated Kiriakis rival back instead of him??

And then there’s AnnaLynne McCord’s response, which we’re sure will perk up the ears of Abigail fans everywhere. Because more than anything, the actress would want Chad’s ex to be raised from the dead for the holidays — but only long enough to make it clear that she forgives Cat so that everyone can move on with their lives! At this point, that might be just about the only thing that can get Jack and Jennifer to back off of coming for Chad’s kids… But again, we don’t see that kind of resurrection coming, so we might be able to take Abby off our list of possible tube residents.

And while most of the holidays may be over, we can’t think of a better time to make a dramatic entrance than New Year’s Eve. Just ask Stefan! Well, maybe don’t, since he’s dead… Unless, of course, he’s in that tube!
