In the Darkness of Anthony Geary’s Passing, a Ray of Light: We’ll Get to See General Hospital’s ‘Luke’ and ‘Faison’ Together One Last Time

Like many things when it came to Luke, his and Faison’s relationship on General Hospital was… complicated. Don’t get us wrong — they were most definitely enemies. But they also teamed up more than once under a variety of circumstances before their respective deaths. In fact, that’s pretty much how the two first met: Faison was working with Luke for years under the alias of jewel thief Herr Krieg before the truth came out about who he was.
Once that did come out, Faison wasted no time in teaming up with Helena and tormenting Luke like few others. He targeted not just Luke, but his whole family, going so far as to kidnap Lucky and let his poor parents believe he’d died! That’s why it was so surprising years later to learn that Luke had teamed up with Faison (and just about every other villain who’d ever tormented Port Charles) again!
It turned out, of course, that Luke’s evil personality, “Fluke,” was the one teaming up with Faison, but it was still another complicated wrinkle in their relationship. And that’s not even mentioning the times Luke’s lookalike cousin, Bill Eckert, tangled with Faison in the early ’90s. Sadly, of course, those days are over as Bill, Luke and now Geary have all passed away.
Offscreen, Geary and Anders Hove became good friends, and when Luke’s portrayer moved permanently to the Netherlands, the two were able to visit each other a bit more easily than before. They stayed in touch, and as Hove shared with TV Insider, Geary was not just “a good friend” but also a “great acting partner.” And that’s why we couldn’t have been happier to have learned that they left us with one last gift.
When TV Insider shared the news of Geary’s passing, they noted that he filmed a final scene before his passing with Hove. And though we don’t have any more information beyond that, we can only look forward to the day we get to see them together on our screens one last time.
